Let me introduce myself. My name is Carol Mailloux, let me be the first to welcome you. I have wanted to be a funeral director for as long as I can remember, and one day, my son said to me "well why don't you?" So I applied for school and the rest is history. I have served my communities as a funeral director and embalmer since graduating but felt there was something missing. The connection I had with my families has filled my soul, but it was with limits. Unfortunately once a funeral or memorial is completed, families are referred to an aftercare specialist, and you lose touch. It is frowned upon to maintain contact with families once disposition has taken place. I have had many families express that they wish they knew me when their family members were ill, and many invitations to family gatherings afterward which I was unable to attend. Starting Chrysalis Care, I am able to be there for the family during an illness, during the transition towards death, planning disposition and afterwards. I believe people are left to fend for themselves after the funeral or disposition, and that can be the loneliest time as everyone has gone back to the hustle and bustle of life.  I am a certified end of life doula, licensed funeral director and embalmer. Many of my clients express needs that other end-of-life care providers are not able to cater to. I strive to give clients a way to have one person to take care of all aspects from end of life care, to final disposition and after care. Count on me to be with your family during your dear one’s last moments up until they are laid to rest and beyond.
